Job Description

Operational Activities

  • Execution and coordination of operating system updates
    (Linux / Windows, depending on the system landscape)
  • Planning and implementation of Java patches
    (SAP NetWeaver, SAP Java stacks)
  • SAP Security Notes Management, including:

    Analysis and technical assessment of SAP Security Notes;
    Implementation of basis‑relevant security notes;
    Follow‑up on implementation status in coordination with responsible teams

  • Execution of add‑on, kernel, and product installations
    (ABAP & Java), including interface coordination with business departments and external service providers
  • Monitoring of the SAP system landscape, including: Analysis and handling of system alerts
  • Technical coordination and execution of upgrades and migrations, such as: Release upgrades; Technical conversionsSystem copies including: Technical lead activities within the assigned scope, Documentation of operational processes and technical changes
  • Planning and execution of SAP system copies
    (ABAP & Java), including pre‑ and post‑processing activities such as BDLS, RFC adjustments, and user/job cleanup



Automation & Optimization

  • Identification of automation opportunities within SAP Basis operations
  • Standardization of recurring activities
    (e.g. patching, monitoring, routine checks)

The Successful Applicant

  • Several years of experience as an SAP Basis Administrator or Consultant
  • Strong technical knowledge of: SAP NetWeaver (ABAP & Java); Patching (OS, SAP kernel, Java); SAP Security Notes and security concepts; Upgrade, migration, or S/4HANA projects
  • Experience in operational SAP environments
    (incident, change, and problem management)
  • Independent, structured, and reliable working approach
  • Fluent German language



Nice‑to‑have

  • SAP monitoring tools (e.g. Avantra, SAP Solution Manager, or comparable tools)
  • Automation topics (scripting, job automation, standardization)
